Giclee Print Care

About Your Giclee Print

Giclee prints are special; in their unique ability to accurately reproduce the rich colours and beautiful detail of original artwork. They can be found in the world's finest museums, art galleries and private collections. They should be treasured and cared for in the same way as an original piece of art.

Your giclee print has been created on 315gsm German made acid free museum grade 100% cotton archival paper, using LUCIA Pro 12 x colour archival pigment inks giving your giclee print a 100+ years life time and beautiful colour reproduction, depth and detail.

Please read the care instructions below to ensure your giclee print will continue to enrich your home or workspace and bring you pleasure for years to come.

Care and handling

Before handling your print, make sure your hands have been washed and are dry. Natural skin oils or other contaminants can easily transfer to the print.

In order to remove your print, open the end of the cardboard tube by removing one of its caps, and carefully pull on the protective tissue paper and not the print itself.

Only handle the white boarders of the print and use both hands to support the back of the print when picking it up.

Leave the print to settle and uncurl naturally on a flat clean dry surface, use the protective tissue paper that came with your print to protect it from dust and be careful of water, hard objects or adhesives as these will damage the surface of your print.

Try not to use your hands to wipe off any dust as this can contaminate or scratch your print, use a brand new soft paint brush instead to gently wipe dust from the surface.

Framing

If you can, take your print straight to the framer, unrolled if possible, use two hands to support your print when moving it so it will not bend or crease as this kind of damage is permanent.

Make sure your framer uses matting (inner mount board) and that is made from acid free archival materials.

After being framed and safely put behind glass, hang your beautiful Giclee print on a wall away from direct sunlight, as direct UV rays will eventually affect the colours over time.
